If the diameter is 10 feet, then the radius is 5 feet.

The area of a full circle is pi*r^2, so a full circle would have an area of 25pi.

The semicircle then would have an area of 25pi/2, or 12.5*pi = 39.27 square feet.

If each can of paint covers 32 square feet, then the first can isn't enough to cover the semicircle, but 2 cans of paint would cover 64 square feet, so that's enough paint to cover the semicircle.

So the answer is 2 cans of paint.
