We use the relationship between mass, gravitational acceleration, and length units to convert 0.016 kg/cm into N/m.

To convert kilogrammes to newtons:

The force that gravity exerts on a mass is called weight.

1 kilogramme = 9.80665 N (since F = m×g).

Therefore, mass units are converted to force units by multiplying by g.

From meters to centimetres:

 1 cm = 0.01 m.

Since there are 100 centimetres in a metre, converting from the provided unit of centimetres to meters requires multiplying by 100.

Combining the two steps:

 1 kg/cm = 9.80665 × 100 = 980.665 N/m.

Consequently,
 0.016 kg/cm = 0.016 × 980.665 = 15.69 N/m.
