I am trying to find how many metres of plastic i need to cover a Geodesic Dome. The dome is 35feet in diameter and 17 and a half feet high. To find the surface area of the dome i used the formula to find the surface area of a sphere (4piRsquared) and halved the answer.
ie.4 multiplied by 3.14 multiplied by 17.5squared.Result is 3847.
Halving this i got 1923 and a half square feet.
The plastici need to use comes in rolls that are 150cm wide and up to 50m long. The plastic is priced in euros per linear metre. It costs 4.44 for more than 500 metres per order or 4.00 for less than 500 metres per order.I NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY METRES TO ORDER AND HOW MUCH IT WILL COST.
