bits to bytes   (07/13/2016, 7:04 AM)

A "bit" is a one "1" or a "0" zero in computer machine language .

OR a hole or blank space in computer paper tape language . Only 8 spaces across a 1 inch tape .

OR an up or down in computer chip language .

OR an "ON" or "OFF" in computer machine language .

A "byte" is 8 "bits" because it required up to 8 'bites" to make a "byte" to generate a letter or number character .
Since , the average word is 5 letters ... therefore a word is 5 x 8 bites ='s
40 bites total . Then there is a sentence and a paragraph ! ! !

If a person types 60 words a minute ... how many letters does this person type per second ? ? ? Really , its 5th grade arithmetic .

NOTE :
A unit of punctuation such as a , (coma) . ? ! are just as important as a word and therefore they deserve a space on each side ! ! ! Since they are very powerful expressions ! ! ! And we do not have to conserve space anymore ! ! !
