In 26 fortnights (two-week periods), you will take home (1,517.09 x 26 =) $ 39,444.34 accounting for (26 x 14 =) 364 days' work.

Now, in a non-leap year when the year has 365 days, (365 - 364 =) 1 day's salary is due and payable to you which is (1,517.09 / 14 =) approximately $ 108.36.

In a leap year when the year has 366 days, (366 - 364 =) 2 days' salary would be due and payable to you, which is approximately $ 216.73.

If, on the other hand, the salary is payable twice a month (as contra-distinct from every two weeks), then the salary payable in a year would be (1,517.09 x 24 =) $ 36,410.16 exactly, irrespective of whether the year is leap or not.
