448 g / m2 is the mass of the coating (in grammes) per unit area (in square metres).
Thickness in µm (micrometres) of the coating depends on its density (in kg / m3) after it has fully dried / cured.
Thickness in mm = mass / density. Thickness in µm = 1,000 x mass / density.
If density is 1,000 kg / m3, the coating thickness will be 448 µm.
If density is 896 kg / m3, the coating thickness will be 500 µm.
If density is 1,792 kg / m3, the coating thickness will be 250 µm.
If density is 3,584 kg / m3, the coating thickness will be 125 µm.
If wet density of a solvent-borne paint and its formulation is known, thickness can be estimated.
