KVA is practically the same as KW if the load is purely resistive, for practical purposes that means only old style light bulbs and electric heaters.
If you are planning to use electric motors then the two are not the same. As a rough rule of thumb add fifteen percent to the KW to give you a rough KVA. This is not an exact figure but I hope it will give you some idea.
