Density is just a relationship between mass and volume. You have the mass, 500g and you have the volume, 8cc. The density is mass/volume, that is 500/8 This is 62.5 grams/cubic centimetre.
The answer seems very high to me so I would suggest that you recheck your measurements. To put it in perspective water has a density of 1 and the densest elements known are around 22.
