x = distance of 24g weight
y = distance of 16g weight

x + y = 1 meter

24 * x = 16 * y = 16 * (1 - x) = 16 - 16 * x

24 * x + 16 * x = 16

40 * x = 16

x = 16/40 = 2/5
y = 1 - x = 3/5

So the fulcrum should be 2/5th of the way along the meter, if the 24g weight is on the left and the 16g weight is on the right. The fulcrum is then at 0.4 meters from the left side.
