2012 is a leap year, so there are 366 days in it.

So from July 25, 2012 to July 25, 2013 it's 366 days. Then you have July 26, 27, 28, and 29 of 2013, which makes 370 days NOT including the end date.

If you INCLUDE the end date of July 30, 2013, then you get a total of 371 days.

How do you decide whether or not to include the end date?

Think of it on a shorter time span first. How many days are there if you count from July 25, 2012 to July 26, 2012? Most people would say that 1 day has passed, so there is 1 day between those two dates. If it was 1:00pm on July 25, and it's now 1:00pm on July 26, it makes sense that 24 hours have passed, which equals 1 day. So that calculation does not include the end date.

Some people might want to count that short span as 2 days. If you start counting from the morning of July 25 and end late at night on July 26, then almost 48 hours have passed, so that's how you might decide to call it 2 days. That calculation then includes the end date.

So the number of days between July 25, 2012 and July 30, 2013 is 370 days if you measure from the same time of day. It could also be considered 371 days if you include the end date (which is like saying that you're counting from the early morning of July 25, 2012 and ending late at night on July 30, 2013).
