Dear All,
I have some dilemas concerning the preparation of stock solutions of chemical compounds.
For example, ibuprofen.
If I weigh 4 g, and add 2 ml of the solvent (dimethylsulphoxide)which concentration have I prepared? In mg/ml?
One way of doing this is to measure the total volume of the solution and divide 4 g with that volume.
Is there a shorter way? Can it be calculated?
conc. = 4 g / (2 ml + x)
How can I calculate the x?
Please help!
